1. The internet is the worlds largest world network area, made up of millions of smaller networks.Everything that you find online is used through internet. Billions of people use the internet at the same time. This connects computers from all around the world, allowing them access to billions of places at the same time. Internet is used for searching, entertainment, communication and much more.
2. Protocols transfer displayable web pages and related files. There are many different types of protocols, used for different things. Simple Mail Transfer protocol is called SMTP; this is used for sending emails. FTP is an application that uses TCP/IP protocols. TC/ IP is one of the more common types of protocols. Network protocols are rules that establish how a network of computers communicate with each other.
3. DNS is a directory inside a computer that takes domain names and translates them to IP addresses. Computers need numbers to understand information, just like humans use names and words. Under the original DNS root server there are other categories of separating things. Com servers are used for organizations like CNN, or amazon. There is also an org server and edu server for those websites. Each of these will be sort of like a phone book, but for websites.
